Ending with James Cameron and a deeply disappointing Ricky Gervais. The Empress is going to go read something uplifting now so that's not the thing she goes to sleep on. Good night!
REALLY. I DON'T GET THE AVATAR THING.
Julia isn't looking so glam. I like Rita Wilson's dress much better.
Jeff Bridges and his wife of 33 years were very sweet on the red carpet. He said the motto of the evening was "don't step on my train." It's nice to see him up on stage and insisting that the cameras show her.
I'm afraid I can't hear about Kate Winslet and The Reader any more without thinking about the merkin.
Robert Downey, Jr. continues to be, quite simply, the Bomb. And he dressed very nicely as well. (The only male sartorial gesture the Empress liked as well were Colin Firth's Art Deco studs. But he IS Mr. Darcy.)
The Empress adores S. Bullock, but truly doesn't believe we're going to see a repeat of this win at the Oscars. But cheers for the German and the Makers Mark comments. And the beautiful thanks to your husband.
LOVE Carey Mulligan's hairdo and sparkly headband. (See? Is that so hard?)
And, Sandra Bullock, I take it back. The see-through skirt is not acceptable, no matter how great your great, great legs are.
Honestly, I do NOT understand the appeal of Avatar. It's about the search for "unobtainium" for God's sake. Titanic was more subtle.
And the win of "The Hangover" is probably the single best example of why the Golden Globes are not a reliable predictor of the Academy Awards.
